How to Create a Great PartyHubSA Listing
Think like your customer — not like a business owner
When creating your listing, the goal is not simply to tell people what your business is called. Your goal is to help customers who are searching for a product or service find you.
Before adding your listing, ask yourself:
“If I was looking for this service on Google or PartyHubSA, what would I type into the search bar?”
The more useful and specific information you provide, the easier it is for customers to find the right listing — and the less we need to change or optimise your listing afterwards.
1. Use a clear, descriptive business/listing name
Don’t rely only on your brand name.
For example:
❌ ABC Events
Much better:
✅ ABC Events – Kids Party Entertainment & Face Painting
This immediately tells customers — and search engines — what you offer.
If appropriate, include your main service or product in your listing title.
2. Think about what your customers will search for
Customers don’t always know your business name.
They are more likely to search for things like:
- Kids party entertainment
- Face painting Johannesburg
- Balloon decorations Pretoria
- Custom birthday cakes Centurion
- Party favours Johannesburg
- Mobile petting zoo Gauteng
- Kids pottery parties
- Personalised birthday party boxes
- Candy floss for parties
- Wedding cake toppers
- Kids party activities
Use the words your customers would actually type into a search box.
Ask yourself:
What do I sell?
Who is it for?
Where do I provide it?
What type of event is it for?
These answers should naturally appear in your listing.
3. Give as much information as possible
A listing with only a business name, phone number and one sentence doesn’t give customers — or search engines — much to work with.
Try to provide:
- A detailed business description
- All your main products/services
- Types of parties or events you cater for
- Age groups you cater for
- Areas you service
- Products available
- Price ranges, where possible
- What’s included
- Delivery or collection options
- Booking information
- Lead times
- Contact details
- Website and social media links
- Good-quality photographs
The more useful information you provide, the better your listing can work for you.
4. LIST YOUR PRODUCTS AND SERVICES SEPARATELY
This is VERY important!
If you offer 10 different products or services, don’t simply put all 10 into one paragraph.
For example:
❌ “We offer balloons, party favours, cakes, candy floss, backdrops and decorations.”
Instead, list each important product or service separately.
Example:
Balloon Garlands
Custom balloon garlands for birthdays, baby showers and special events.
Personalised Party Favours
Custom party favours with names, colours and themes to match your celebration.
Candy Floss
Freshly made candy floss available for children’s parties, events and celebrations.
Birthday Backdrops
Customised birthday backdrops available in a variety of themes and colours.
This gives customers more information and gives each product/service a better chance of being found through search.
5. Use specific product names
Don’t just write:
❌ Party Favours
Be more specific where possible:
✅ Personalised Unicorn Party Favours
✅ Dinosaur-Themed Party Boxes
✅ Custom Name Chocolate Bars
✅ Personalised Wooden Cake Toppers
✅ Kids Paint-Your-Own Plaster Party Favours
Think about the exact words a parent would search for.
6. Include the locations you service
Location is extremely important for party suppliers.
Customers often search for:
“party suppliers near me”
“birthday cakes Pretoria”
“balloon decorators Randburg”
“kids parties Johannesburg”
Make sure you indicate where you operate.
For example:
Based in: Centurion
Areas serviced:
Centurion, Pretoria, Midrand, Johannesburg, Irene, Rooihuiskraal and surrounding areas.
If you travel to customers, say so!
Example:
We are based in Centurion and provide balloon décor throughout Centurion, Pretoria, Midrand and surrounding Gauteng areas. Delivery and setup are available.
7. Include the types of events you cater for
Don’t assume customers will know.
Tell them!
For example:
- Birthday parties
- Children’s parties
- Baby showers
- Bridal showers
- Weddings
- Corporate events
- School events
- Year-end functions
- Christenings
- Kitchen teas
- Gender reveals
- Engagement parties
- Special celebrations
This also gives you additional opportunities to appear in relevant searches.
8. Include themes and occasions
If you specialise in particular themes, say so.
For example:
- Barbie
- Bluey
- Paw Patrol
- Disney
- Princess
- Dinosaur
- Unicorn
- Football
- Minecraft
- Safari
- Jungle
- Farm
- Construction
- Mermaid
A customer searching for “Bluey party decorations Johannesburg” is much more likely to find a listing that actually mentions Bluey than one that simply says “party decorations.”
9. Don’t keyword-stuff
You don’t need to repeat the same word 20 times.
❌ “We offer party decorations. Our party decorations are perfect for party decorations at your party. Our party decoration service provides party decorations…”
This makes your listing difficult to read and doesn’t help customers.
Instead, write naturally and provide useful information.
Search engines are smart enough to understand related words and phrases.
10. Use your description to answer customer questions
Imagine a customer has just found your listing.
What would they want to know?
For example:
Do you deliver?
Yes, we deliver throughout Pretoria and surrounding areas.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking at least 2 weeks in advance.
Do you set everything up?
Yes, our team can deliver and set up the décor.
Can I customise the colours?
Yes, colours can be customised to match your party theme.
Do you cater for adults as well as children?
Yes, we cater for birthdays, weddings, corporate events and other celebrations.
The more questions you answer upfront, the fewer questions customers need to ask you.
11. Add your prices where possible
You don’t necessarily need to provide a complete price list, but giving customers an idea of your pricing can be extremely helpful.
For example:
Balloon Garlands – from R850
Party Favours – from R25 each
Kids Party Packages – from R1,500
If pricing depends on the requirements, say:
Packages are customised according to the number of children, theme and activities required. Contact us for a quote.
12. Use good-quality photographs
Your photos are often the first thing a customer notices.
Try to include:
- Clear photographs
- Good lighting
- Finished products
- Different products/services
- Different themes
- Photos of your setup
- Close-ups of products
- Real events where possible
Avoid uploading 10 almost-identical photographs.
Show customers what they can actually book from you.
13. Make your listing easy to read
Don’t put everything into one enormous paragraph.
Use headings and separate sections.
For example:
About Us
Who you are and what you do.
Our Services
List your main services.
Products
List your individual products.
Areas We Service
List your locations.
Events
List the types of events you cater for.
Booking Information
Explain lead times, delivery, setup and booking requirements.
This makes your listing easier for customers to scan.
14. Use the right categories
Choose the most specific category available.
For example, if you sell:
Personalised wooden cake toppers
Don’t choose only:
Party Supplies
If a more relevant category such as:
Cake & Cupcake Toppers
is available, choose that instead.
Correct categorisation helps customers find you when browsing the directory.
15. Don’t leave fields blank
If PartyHubSA gives you a field to complete, use it.
Even if something seems unimportant, it may help customers understand your business.
Complete as much of your profile as possible, including:
- Business name
- Description
- Category
- Products
- Services
- Location
- Areas serviced
- Price range
- Contact information
- Website
- Social media
- Photos
- Booking information
A complete listing = a better listing.
⭐ The GOLDEN RULE
Before you click Submit, read your listing and ask:
“If I didn’t know this business existed, could I find it by searching for the products or services they offer?”
If the answer is no, add more information.
Instead of:
“We are an events company offering beautiful party solutions.”
Try:
“We provide children’s party entertainment, face painting, balloon décor and themed party decorations in Pretoria, Centurion and surrounding Gauteng areas. We specialise in birthday parties, baby showers and special celebrations, with customised packages available for different ages, themes and budgets.”
The second version gives customers far more information and contains the types of words people are likely to search for.
